Sound track

about.

Sound Track is a Flemish music competition organised yearly since 2019, offering up-and-coming talent the chance to present themselves through a live show. The competition selects 18 laureates, who each win a year of musical guidance from the best of the Belgian music industry. And of course: every one of these winners needs a trophy to take home. This initiative is organised by VI.BE, the support centre for artists and the music sector, from beginners to professionals, from local to international.

Every part of the 18 trophies was printed, primed, sanded, painted, assembled, and clear-coated in-house. Everything was produced using a single Bambu Lab A1 printer: a real budget powerhouse that delivered 20 trophies, each consisting of 9 pieces, in a matter of weeks.

The bases of the trophies were filled to the top with industrial steel waste to lower the centre of gravity significantly, providing stability and a premium feel to an otherwise affordable material.

Sound Track caters to all genres of music, so it was important to portray the atmosphere of live concerts in a way abstract enough for everyone to relate to the shape, regardless of their musical taste. The colours, shape, and typography were all aligned with the existing brand guidelines of Sound Track.

The wave flowing through the sculpture represents growth: it starts at the base (Sound Track) and expands into a confident artist, letting its colours shine through and grow in all directions.
